Motors
Some statistics say motors are biggest consumers of electricity. Part of energy they consume is waisted, even worse – it produces no mechanical work, but heat, noise and vibration.
Why? There are two main reasons.
Reason one. All the motors are naturally oversized. Both motor and equipment designer add a little to be sure it works under allowed voltage fluctuations. Then motor is „rounded up“ to a standard one.
Reason two – variable load. Means part of worktime motor power is much higher than the load.
If we can change motor speed, best solution is inverter. But most of the processes require constant speed. Then we can adjust voltage to load using dynamic motor controller.
You should know – please check carefully application before installing motor controlls. You can have fantastic saving rate if application is suitable. But if motoor is fully loaded – nothing can be saved.
